16” square Torrita Di Siena is the ancient (1300 AD) Tuscan locale for this tiny, family-owned ceramics factory. They specialize in a technique known as ceramic relief, in which the design is sketched to create a resist within which the various colors of glaze are contained. The result is a colorful, mosaic effect on the pottery which works particularly well with the artists’ sunny, happy themes!
